What is teemIP and what is IPAM used for?
teemIP is an open source IP address management (IPAM) solution that helps map, plan and audit the address plan of an information system. It includes native DDI (DNS, DHCP) and CMDB functions to track connected devices. In practice, teemIP replaces the Excel files and in-house scripts used by 70% of organizations to manage their network.
Is teemIP really free?
Yes. The Community version is 100% free, under AGPL v3 license, downloadable from SourceForge without account creation. You can install it on your own, use it in production, and even modify it. Paid plans (Standard, Premium) add professional support, training, SLAs and tailored guidance.
How many organizations use teemIP today?
teemIP is downloaded on average 500 times per month for over 10 years on SourceForge. The solution equips SMEs, mid-cap companies, telecom operators, hospitals, integrators and public bodies, in France and internationally. The code has been in continuous R&D since 2011.
What is the difference between IPAM, DDI and CMDB?
IPAM manages IP address plans. DDI adds DNS and DHCP coordination on top of IPAM. A CMDB (Configuration Management Database) inventories configuration items (servers, devices, applications) and their relationships. teemIP combines all three in a single tool, whereas most solutions cover only one part.
Can teemIP be used without iTop?
Yes. teemIP can be used standalone, and it can also be connected or integrated with iTop when organizations want to link IPAM, CMDB, ITSM and operational processes.
Does teemIP integrate with existing tools?
Yes. teemIP provides a documented REST API and ready-to-use connectors for ITSM tools (iTop, GLPI, Jira), monitoring (Centreon, Zabbix, Nagios), inventory (Lansweeper), directories (AD/LDAP), virtualization (VMware, Proxmox) and BI (Grafana, Power BI). The native iTop/teemIP integration is particularly mature: our team is officially iTop certified by Combodo, and teemIP SAS is an OEM partner of Combodo.
Can teemIP help with NIS2 and governance?
teemIP is a structuring tool for NIS2 compliance: it provides the inventory repository and network mapping required by Article 21 of the directive. Regarding GDPR, teemIP can be self-hosted on-premises or on sovereign cloud (Outscale, OVHcloud), with full control of your data. teemIP SAS is a French company based in Meylan (38).
How does teemIP compare to major DDI suites on the market?
teemIP does not aim to replicate every feature of an active DDI suite. The solution targets organizations that want to structure an open IPAM repository, linked to the CMDB, with a documented or integrable DNS/DHCP trajectory.
