+This is the root class from the datamodel where most CIs derive from. It cannot be instanciated as such. Important point is that the class carries the method **GetNameForIPAttribute** where the shortname of the IP associated to the CI is defined. Furthermore, as the method is defined in XML, it can be overloaded to handle specific cases (like creating different name for the different IPs that a CI may have).
